The Yao Culture

Today, the people from the Yao culture came to Cultural cafe to represent themselves in difference to our every day scene. These people were dressed in long colorful robes, red if they were female, blue if they were male. They wore magnificent hats upon their heads, with dangling baubles and glittery threads. What was unusual, was that they were wearing their own, casual shoes. Being as they are wearing all this Costume material, why were their shoes a mixture of trainers, pumps and uggs? Other than this sidetrack, their performance was amazing. Their voices were so pure and they always smiled when they sang, which made you smile too. Celebrities would be jealous of how clear their voices were, just like they'd been on auto tune. I found it hard to believe it wasn't on a soundtrack that they were sining along to.

They brought some volunteers up onto the stage they were performing on, before showing the un-knowing volunteers what they were in for. These casual, just passing through people, were up to a fight with one of the most professional fighters of the Yao culture. For the the first un-lucky match, the fight seemed impossible and he fell to the ground with shame. Though, for the second, unfortunately for the professional, he braved the fight and won!

I throughly enjoyed this experience because it was nice to learn about other cultures and hear what the people of the Yao culture had to say. I had never experienced something like this before and i recommend this to anyone wanting to try something different for entertainment!

The Bounty Hunter Film (Homework)

Last Tuesday night, i went to see a film called the 'Bounty Hunter' with Jenifer Aniston and Gerard Butler. The film was a Rom-com of a recently divorced ex-police officer who had recently taken up a job of being a Bounty Hunter. Life seems dull and boring for this middle-age man until his boss gives him the job of bringing his ex-wife to jail after she harrassed a police officer. This more than happy man,  thinks it'll be the easiest job in the world until his hard-working wife runs off on more than one occasion to follow the lead of the case she's investigating at work. After more than one attemps, Gerard finally catches her and is watching her every move. They stop on the way to jail to their honeymoon residence from when they first got married, and things start to look like they are going to re-kindle their marriage. This is until Jenifer runs off on her case again and gets captured by the criminals she is investigating. Gerard then goes to save her and then proceeds on taking her to jail. But feeling like he's left her, he then gets himself into jail by mouthing off one of the police officers so he can be with her. They then get back together. A very very good film with funny, sad and romantic moments, some action moments too. I strongly recomend this film! :) <3 x
